First we took a tractor ride to the vegetables and fruit so we could pick our lunch.
We picked yellow wax beans, green beans, onions, tomatoes (3 different types), cilantro, Anaheim peppers, bell peppers, carrots, bok choy, and I think i covered them all.
At each vegetable stop we got to taste them right from the garden.
We tasted Anahiem peppers.
We tasted bok choy.
cilantro,
Green Beans
and even
tasted flowers from bok choy and cilantro (after they have been picked or when they have grown past maturity the flowers are left)
The girls like the bok choy yellow flowers (tasted like broccoli)!
We even tasted them right off the plant
After picking our lunch we had to wash it.
But first we had to walk to the washing station.
So we washed all our veggies (and fruit).
Did you know corn is actually a fruit!
So each girl washed their food. Then we had to cut them and prepare them to be put into foil and put onto the bbq.
When the food was cooked, after we ate some kale, and raw white corn(so delicious)
we ate our lunch! (The girls and Michael added Tofu to their lunch as well as all their vegetables)
Then we ended with dessert. What else would dessert be at Tanaka Farms...
Nope not strawberries (wrong season)
But
Watermelon!
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm. So delicious!!!
It was a wonderful Sunday morning!
As a family!
